Thats a really diverse list and you probably won't have any problems finding something from that list in your price range. But, for that price it will most likely have a lot of miles on it so just look around and make sure you are getting the most for your money.

Autotrader.com is an awesome resource to find cars for sale in your area Wink

Wow that is quite a list. The thing to watch out for when you are spending 3,000 grand on a car is how good it runs. I wouldnt worry to much about the shape the paint and stuff is in. When you are spending that little on a car it is going to have high millage. Make sure everything is in running order powertrain wise, becuase the bill for broken parts adds up fast.

Like Tom said autotrader.com and collectorcartrader.com for those older cars on your list are very helpful resources.

if this is your first car and all you have is 3K I would think gas related and buy something with good MPG. Get something running and dont worry about the miles

My list of first cars....

very first car...hand me down Ford Fairmont 6 years old

used Ford Tempo 2500 bucks bought after I wrecked the Fairmont in the rain

used 16 year old VW Super beetle after the tempo broke down so often I abandoned it on the side of the road (I dont reccomend this... you still pay for it later down the road)

I turned 18 and started making better money... I bought my first Mustang a 1984 Silver / Black GT

Did some minor work to it.... added 2k to it and bought my first car within 2 years of being new.... 1988 Mustang GT Vert

Took good care of this one..... put a couple more grand down and bought my first brand new car........ 1993 Mustang GT!!!! i drove it off the trailer the day it was delivered.... the greatest and worst day of my life to that day. I drove it around the one way circle at Crystal Ford in Burtonsville where a Dodge van going the wrong way slammed head on into me destroying the car... doing enough damage that I was air lifted to Shock Trauma.

Since that time --- 1993 I have had another 8 other cars

Moral of the story.... buy what works..... work on it a little and trade it in and up..... it is your first car aim low and work up.

Dude! Your '93 was destroyed the day you bought it? What happens next, do they give you a new one and insurance takes care of it?

Wow what a kick in the nuts. I doubt they would just give him a new one remember he drove the car off the lot. I am sure he lost out some money on the deal. But damn that sucks 1993's are my favorite fox body stangs. I would love to find a 93 cobra, but those are few and far between.

In a legal battle with the dealership (I was in charge of dealer exchanges - worked for the dealer) because I was on duty I did not have to pay for the car, got workmans comp for three months... got well and went into the Marines. During Boot Camp.... the other guys insurance paid me 15K.... I took it and didnt fight the settlement.
