Help with my civic

I have a civic 2004 and I would like to know what can i buy/change to raise the HP and/or torque.

I'm not too fluent on imports, but I'm sure the usual Header(s), Intake, and Exhaust will do wonders for the vehicle. Once you take care of those upgrades, its onto fuel mixture and ignition. The possibilities are endless when it comes to performance upgrades for any vehicle.

Hell, I've even seen a 75 shot of Nitrous on a Chevette at the track once. People do some crazy things.

Tom is right there, those are some easy bolt ons you can put on your civic by your self if you have time and common sense. With headers cold air intake and full exhaust you are looking at about 25-30 hp gain.

I think your numbers a extremely inflated (that may be what is written on the advertisements, but it's not going to happen). A naturally aspirated Civic is not going to pick up 25-30 hp from exhaust and intake mods, maybe 5-10 at most for those upgrades. IMO don't waste $700 on full exhaust and intake upgrades that are going to disappoint in the long run. Throw a 50 or 75 shot on the car for $700 (used N2O kit and necessary fuel upgrades) and see a real world 40-60 hp gain at the wheels.

Or if you have the cash..turbo!!

You are correct, but the starting point for almost any project should be the exhuast and the intake... You may not gain as much out of the gate, but when you t hrow on the N20 or the turbo or what ever you will see better gains out the items you previously threw on...

you can pick up 25hp no freakin prob with what steve said. Its gonna be at the fly not the wheels but its still possible. I would say get that on first the intake, exhaust, ect...let it breathe easier. after that i would def
go with some sorta fms, like a V-AFC or SAFC if theres no vtec...(deff get that set up first, though. if you dont have vtec ur missin alot of potential)....or a wide band. Tuning these beasts is what its all about. a cheap way to squeeze out bout 1 or 2 ponies is to add a grounding kit. stock grounds on cars blows. after that you should be ready for the real big power gains

I am not sure what dyno/track you've been to where a car can increase its efficiency by 20% with full exhaust and CAI, but I want to dyno/test my car there. However, even claiming 25hp....the 50 shot will give you at least 15 more hp to the wheel for the same dollar amount and you could still upgrade to a 75+ shot. The Zex kit is a fantastic beginner kit, it is easy to install and very user friendly. Then you could put a higher flow exhaust on at a later time...JMO... The nitrous refills do get pricey though!!

Plus it does you no good cruising around on the street and for those occasional traffic light take-offs...

Nah that is why you get an automatic bottle opener. You can open and close the bottle with a push of a button. I dont think transporting n20 in your car is illegal, just runnin on the streets with an open bottle is.. Can anyone confirm this..

Sorry NO2 is for pussys. Build up the engine as much as you can then when you finally get running good times and your sittn at a 12.2 qt time and you want that 11 sec run THEN throw the bottle on.

i agree but you will not see near 25-30 hp from just intake and exhaust ...i didnt see that on my stang your not gonna see it on your civic but you might get like 10 hp...but dont complain about that you gotta start somewhere, i hate to be the person to do it but somebody has to explain to people that advertised hp gains are bullshit!

#1) It is N2O not NO2

#2) This is spoken like someone that has seen one too many sets of taillights from someone running the jug!

#3) Nitrous is one of the easiest and cheapest (upfront) ways to get a real horsepower and torque increase. Installation is way less invasive and involved than installing a supercharger or turbo kit with similar gains in horsepower, and usually exceeds the torque output of both.

What would make someone a pussy for running the most cost effective- dollar for dollar-power adder on their car, that comment makes no sense!!

ITS fuckn pussy cause once you run out your still left with that gay piece of shit u call a car. so yea mabye i will see your tail lights for about what um 10 sec, but when your baby bottle runs out i still got the power to catch ya pass ya and keep going....who wants to brag about a car that has horsepower for seconds. what is that. grow some balls and put on a power adder that adds ALL the time.

I have to agree with Mike in a sense, however i dont believe that nitrous is for pussys. I think that nitrous should be used on fast cars not stock cars (personal belief). I would rather have a turbo civic than a civic with a 75 shot because the 75 shot of nitrous would not always be practical. If you have a bad ass car then spray nitrous.
