It is with great sadness that I inform you that Bob Lopez has lost his battle with lung cancer.

Since 98 Rock’s inception over 28 years ago, we have had more than 10 morning shows. Every show included, “Lopez”. He was the driving force behind each show. An unabashed liberal, he was absolute in his beliefs. Lopez was extremely bright, incredibly passionate with an extraordinary sense of humor. He was “one of a kind”.

As a husband and a father, his love knew no boundaries. Lopez is survived by his wife, Jean “Trixie” and his daughter Leandra. In lieu of flowers a scholarship will be set up in Leandra’s name.

More information is to follow.

I am sure most of you know about this by now, but if you didnt Bob Lopez from the KML morning show on 98Rock past away on Sunday. This has kind of hit me hard seeing as I listened to that morning show almost every day for 10 years now. I have very fond memories of the show, most notibly the job they did on 9-11-2001. The professionalism they showed bringing us the news that day was just outstanding.

And who could forget the twisted tunes they came up with or would play.

The 911 Deer Call
Or
Donald Ducks Orgasm

If any one else on the board has any fond memories, or twisted tunes they would to post, please go ahead and do so. Baltimore radio will not be the same with out you Lopez. I am sure we all will miss you...

The Morning Show will not be the same with his witty humor. I wonder if they will find a replacement for him now that he is gone.

No more hearing "Villa Julie College Closed" on those snowy mornings.
