Now Honestly what kind of car do you drive
Ok hopefully this thread wont make any people dislike me as i see it very frequently everyday. I see people modify their cars to look like something it is not then they try to play it off as if they have that car. Like people that put cobra or roush parts on their mustang and then tell people that they have a cobra or a roush when its just a gt or when people take an integra put a wing on it paint it yellow get some new badges and call it a type r. I just dont understand why people try to mimmick something their car is not and then say it is what it isnt. Educated people find these things out. How i look at it is putting a roush badge on a mustang is just as bad as putting a type r sticker on a civic
Could be a touchy subject but hopefully no one gets offended by it. I kind of agree with you on that point, but at the same time I can see why some people do it. Sometimes they will buy a base model and then build it up to be the car that they want. Sometimes people just don't want to spend the money to buy the sometimes overpriced "real thing"
Of course some people that I know mod thier cars to make fun of others...insert probe pics here... I am sure Tom has them floating around here somewhere!

i dont mean to offend anyone that wants to enhance their car say by putting a roush body kit to enhance the looks of their car. But what bothers me is when they will tell someone they dont expect to know that it is a roush. For example this guy we worked with at lonestar had a 02 gt with a cobra hood cobra bumper and cobra rims and told everyone it was a cobra
Ehh I can kind of see where you are coming from, but I am trying to turn my car into a mixture between a cobra and a roush. I know it is only a GT that is all I could afford when i bought it, but now that I have money I can do things to it that I wish I would have had from the factory, like the roush body kit, cobra brakes, cobra wheels ect. And when I am done if ever I will have a very unique custom mustang, that I can call my own. That is how I see it.

I can def see this ruffling some tail feathers. Everyone has their ideas for customizing their cars. But, its pretty uncool to slap a Type R badge on your Yellow Integra and boast about it being a Type R. But, then again, that just makes it all the better when you smoke his ass after him bragging about something his car isnt Then he may let you in on what his car REALLY is.
Yeah i deff don't like when people do that. It doesn't bother me that they put on the parts or bodykits, but don't tell everyone it's something it isn't. A great example would be that mustang. If i'm not mistaken i think the "roush" mustang at burger king is just a gt that has the badges. That does bother me. It's one thing to put some different parts or looks on the car but don't brag that it's something else when we all know.
Brent I could be wrong but I think that roush at BK is actually a real 40th anniversary Roush. It is a stage 1 though so it is just looks, but I am almost posative it is a real roush.

yeah coming from a person who has a base line lx stang that has cobra badges and kit. i just did it for the look, everybody knows what a cobra is and its a slick look but i would never tell anyone its a cobra....but thats not because i dont want them to think my car is bad ass its because my car is faster then a 93 cobra and it really has nothing to do with factory ideas its all personal preferences and style choices. so its up to you
wilhide i know for a fact its a gt.....and steve....Chris still will claim its a cobra....even when hes admitted to me it was just a gt. for the rest i dont mind anything but the emblems...if u like a body kit one step above u has but u didnt get then thats fine....just dont brag that u have one
