Didn't even know about this upcoming model from Chevy. Looks kinda Cavalieresque with some Impala Styling. Not sure what to make of it. Click on the Features and Specs and the Engine options. The SS Supercharged is 205HP with 12PSI Maximum Boost.

2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged Engine

The all-aluminum dual overhead cam, 2.0L ECOTEC Supercharged four-cylinder engine is built off the strengths of the original, naturally aspirated 2.2L ECOTEC engine.

The 2.0L Supercharged engine has a four-valve cylinder head, maintenance-free chain-driven camshafts, counter-rotating balance shafts and an integrated oil cooler.

The Eaton M62 supercharger spins at a low rpm, which improves durability and creates less noise while allowing for plenty of top-end power. Power delivery of the supercharged engine is instantaneous. Maximum boost of the supercharger is 12 psi.

Also included on this engine:
1. A direct-mount oil cooler.
2. Oil jets for piston cooling.
3. Heavy-duty pistons.
4. Strong connecting rods.
5. Forged-steel crankshaft.
6. Large oil sump.
7. Sodium-filled exhaust valves for improved durability.
8. A high-strength aluminum cylinder head.

Sounds like apretty decent powerhouse in such a small car!

Did it say whether it would be front or rear wheel drive. That be one hopping car if it was rear wheel.

Actually, I went through all those spec pages on that site and didn't see any mention of the drivetrain setup. My guess with it being a 4 cylinder, its probably FWD. I will look around and see if I can confirm that.

In regards to my last post:
The Cobalt SS is based on Chevy's new factory-built front-wheel-drive Super Sport

Also, found a new video that put the Cobalt in some scenes making it look like the "Little Brother" of the Corvette, but I'm not sure if that is a flattering comparison to vette enthusiasts. Still, the commercials are clever.
