Mike, Steve or anyone else. Do you guys plan on hitting this up. I was debating about it. Does anyone have more info on it. Id be interested in racing just to see what kind of numbers i can put down. But i dont know what the sign up process is or if i can even race on this day. Let me know if you guys plan on hitting this up.

Hopefully we will be going. Mike reminded me about it on friday. As long as work goes ok I will be there as well. As always its weather dependant. Last time that we went the show portion wasn't that big so you are almost sure to get something. There were a good many people racing.

Steve do you know if you can race and show at the same time. I kind of want to race at least once here before i put my new gears in.

You can do both. Last time that we were there a guy in an old t-bird was showing and racing at the same time. You just drive down when they call your class.

Go with what Steve said, cause I tried to find any info on the event on 75-80s website, and there is little to none. Their site sux ass for specific event info.

I should be there too. I will be pitted in the back on the grass with a blue pop-up tent with my car and a blown 64 Comet making its maiden voyage down the 1320. Stop by to b/s or whatever. I will be trying to improve upon my dismal 13.7 pass at 103mph. It is tough to race and show at the same time, but it is possible, you just have to listen closely to the announcements. Make sure you bring long pants if you are going to race!!

Well if it makes you feel any better i will be trying to improve on my 15.2 at 82 mph. Hell that was car in stock trim like 3 years ago now. Havent had a chance to race it since i have done the mods to it. I will be happy with a 14.5. That is what i am shooting for. Anyways see you there.

Is your car an auto? Thats about what mine ran before I swapped it to a 5 speed..it then dropped to a 14.07 on Nitto Drag Radials. Last year on the juice it ran 13.2@105 on a stock long block..I was hoping to be quicker than that without the Nitrous this year, but I haven't been able to get this thing worked out yet. Over the winter I bored the block and rebuilt it with forged pistons, AFR heads, Custom Cam, Cobra Intake..pretty much the best of everything....I was really pissed that I only trapped 103MPH with all the additions..but I have not been on the dyno yet for a tune...hopefully that will buy some HP.

It is. I do have a art carr shift kit in it now, so hopefully that will help out. Plus i have the full exuast and codl air intake. Im hoping that will be good enough to get a 14.5. However i would be happy just to beat my last time of 5.2..

I know that the B&M Shift Kit in the '78 Vette shaved atleast .5 secs off my 1/4 mile time. And with the Edelbrock Aluminum Intake I think it dropped my time by almost a second when it was all said and done.

Could be a coincidence though, you never know, but it made me smile.

Well unfortunatly this got rained out, so I wasnt able to get up there and race the car. Hopefully it gets reschedualed, because it would have been a fun day meeting some other ford enthusiest like myself. If any one hears anything about a reschedual please let us know.

I have not heard anything about a reschedule, but Mason-Dixon is having a Ford event on 8/21..they usually have a much larger turnout both in the show and racing classes.
