Well every one else has their own projects, here is mine... Very Happy

Step One Painting Tonneau Cover:
Last saterday Steve and I started to work on painting my tonneau cover that has been sitting in my basement for a year and a half collecting dust.

It took a bit of work to get ready for paint it was in pretty bad shape to start with. Had lots of sticky tape and shit stuck to it, and the surface was pretty rough. Thanks to Napa's Decale remover, that tape shit had no prayer... Twisted Evil Then we filed and cut some of the edges off, so it would fit around my styling bar. Next we sanded it all down with 200grit then 400 grit sand paper, and layed 2 coats of primer on the top side. That got sanded down with 400 grit, then anouther coat of primer and that was wet sanded with 1000 grit. Boy did it turn out nice.

Last night we spent time filling in chips and other defects it had with bondo, and began prep work on the botom side of the cover. We laid one coat of primer on it and sanded that down. Still need to add anouther coat or two then wet sand it all down.

Hopefully in the next week or so we will be shooting a couple of coats of black paint followed by some clear coat. At the rate we are going it should look pretty nice by the time it is all done. I forgot to take pictures of the progress of it last night, but next time I am over at Steves I will snap a few shots.

Step Two New Brakes:
I will be upgrading to full cobra specs.
13" front rotors, 12" rear rotors
PBR Dual 42mm Piston Calipers up front, Single Piston caliper in the rear.
All proper hardware needed for the upgrade.

I will be purchasing these rotors later this afternoon after I hear back from the person running the auction, to make sure they are in fact the correct size i need.

Buy It Now = $160.00

These are the front calipers, they come preloaded with new brake pads already..

http://www.johnbleakly.com = $176.00

These are the rear calipers, they also come preloaded with new brake pads..

http://www.johnbleakly.com = $165.00

Mounting hardware to convert the GT/V6 set up to the cobra one.

http://www.johnbleakly.com = $154.00
Mounting hardware kit comes with a set of stock rear rotors, I will be selling these off becuase i will have no use for them becuase i will already have had the drilled and slotted ones.

I will also be getting a set of stainless steal brake lines and banjo bolts. Just havent decided from where yet. They seem to average around $100.00 as well. The rest of the parts will hopefully be ordered later this week early next week.

Step Three Getting the car to pass Emmisions:
Hopefully this will only consist of a set of 4 new O2 sensors, and new MIL Eliminators to keep my check engine light off.

It may also have to consist of a new mass airflow sensor, but i was hoping to keep that out of the picture till further down the road.

This is it for the next month, hopefully all of these projects run as smooth as the tonneau cover is going. I also hope i dont end up spending over my budget on them. We will see... Rolling Eyes

A big thanks in advance for every one who has helped me out, and who will be helping me out, Steve, Tom, Josh, Mike and who ever else cares to join in...

Jeremy

And... about the emissions, how are you going to pass the visual test since you don't have cats? Or do you not have to?

Well the brake upgrade has been put on hold for a week or so. I have just spent all morning buying replacement parts to fix the dammage some punk ass kid did to my car. At a grand total of 150$ I now have a new mirror, and belt molding. And you ask why i didnt go through insurance. Well my deductable is $250 I was able to pick everything i needed for cheaper then that so i said fuck it. Anyways i will keep every one posted on the progress of everything.

I know tomorow night i will be picking up the air guns used for spraying on the paint. I also hope to get the final coats of primer laid down on the tonneau cover, doubt we will be able to begin spraying it. This cover will look so bad ass when it is done, i so cant wait.... Twisted Evil

Well for a total of $819.70 I have all of my new upgraded brake equipment coming to me, except banjo bolts for the rear. I will probally pick them up at a ford dealer ship around here. They are like $12.00. Lets just say these better work and i dont have to send anything back. I paid $105.70 in damn shipping and handleing. Oh well I get paid Tuesday so it is all good. Cant wait to get these bad boys on. They should look real good.

Steve i hope you know how to take axles out of the rear, becuase we have to take them out to mount the new rear braket. Dont worry though the fronts are easy, everything mounts up in stock location. This is probally why they upgraded your front brakes on the roush and left the rear alone.. Confused

When do we have the esteemed pleasure of beginning this project? I think it is going to take more than just an evening over Steve's to figure it all out PLUS The Grey Ghost still needs to be painted, so I don't think there will be much that will take precedence over that.

Maybe its a good thing I didn't pick up that Mustang and get involved with that too Crazy Crazy

May have to sit on the back burner for a bit if you need all of our help.

I dont know when it will get started. Still havent recieved any of the parts yet. Plus i want to apint everything and get it looking nice before it goes on the car. So it will probally be atleast 2 weeks before i get them ready to go on. I also need to get my mirror and shit back together, and that shit hasnt come yet either. I just got a tracking number for the belt molding today, and it should be here thursday. Have no idea where the mirror is at. I will probally end up doing all the work over at steves, but except for taking the rear axils off i wont need any ones help. And the only reason i would do it there is becuase i got kicked out of working at my moms house becuase the jack stands are tearing up the driveway. Oh well so it is either steves house or the town house. Either or will work for me. But you are right tom grey ghost takes president and speaking of which i got the spray guns for it in the trunk of my car, and they will be delivered to steve tonight... Twisted Evil

Well the project just got a bit more intense. Found out last night that i will be getting a strut tower brace, and possibly a set of 4.10 or 3.75 gears the guy has both. For a whooping price of $0.00... Well not really im giving him my old rims for the stuff. He even offered to help me install the gears. What a stand up ford mechanic he is. Anyways ill let you all know if this pans out. I should know more later in the week.

Now if we can only coordinate a decent time to get together and "GIT ER DUN!" That may be the toughest part.
