What is the HP for numbers for the different generations of vette?

How do these numbers compare to that of Camero's and T/A's??

I will get back to you on the HP ratings for the generations of Vettes... Camaro's and TransAms will have to be someone else's specialty.

I will get back to you on that.

i DO know this, in 1969 chevrolet produced a camaro known as the ZL1, only 69 were manufactured and most werent even sold until the mid 70's but this bad boy produced (factory stats: 420 hp) but when dynoed it actually boosted hp just shy of 600 with 520 ftlbs of torque at 5,600 rpms, the first all alumium 427 bbc that when app. tuned could run high tens, and best of all this car was still street legal and until the 2002 camaro ZL1 it was the fastest muscle car ever to roll out of the factory. JUST THOUGHT YAD LIKE TO KNOW

God created turbo lag to give V8's a chance.

C4s: Mid 80's Vettes used the L98 motor, about 245-275HP
Early 90's Vettes had the LT1 pushing about 300HP
C5s: New C5s use the LS1 that's 345HP

TAs/Z28: About the same as the Vettes, always 1 year late getting the new motors. Example: 2000 T/A WS6 @ 325HP.

**It's important to realize that these numbers are UNDERrated.**
Actual HP is more like 360HP for the LS1 T/A, since the dyno read 326 REAR-wheel HP. Stock.

Yeah, TransAms and Camaros are not far behind using the Corvette motor for their cars... Gotta learn from the best I guess Wink Very Happy

C3s tended to have higher rated HP in the earlier years with the 427ci and even the 350ci Engines. At the beginning of the generation, 1968 Vettes ranged from 300HP to 435+HP as a stock option. Now, the Later C3s, during the end of the 70s suffered HP losses due to strict Emissions Controls and regulations. It was not the greatest days for the HP Sad but it still had the look to get the girls wet. Laughing Wink

Anyway, those days of the lacking HP are over and the newest C5s boast the LS6 pushing out 405HP and scream Badass Twisted Evil

Thats my $0.02

What can I say... 25th Anniversary, 25 years old, and still got the looks. Wink

After all, Chrissy did tell me she was going to enjoy dating me for the car this summer... Gotta love the T-Tops, the Sun in your face, and turning heads as you cruise by!
