Fallen Officers Scholarship Fund Car Show Saturday May 28
by highhorseb
The Roadrunners Auto Club of Maryland and the Bluz Brothers Car Enthusiasts are hosting The Second Annual Shane Evans Fallen Officers Scholarship Fund Car Show and Benefit on Saturday May 28, 2005 at Carrolltown Mall from 9AM to 3PM. The mall is located at the intersection of Route 26 and Ridge Road in Eldersburg, Maryland. The entry fee will be $12.00 to pre register, $15.00 the day of the show and registration will be cut off at 1PM. Vendor spaces will also be available for $35.00 per parking spot for the sale of parts, merchandise, and food. The show proceeds will be split evenly between the Evans children scholarship fund and a college fund for other fallen officers’ children. Dash plaques will be given to the first 200 registered cars, and all makes, years, and models are welcome. There will be 35 trophies and 35 plaques awarded and voting will be done by participant ballot. The event will include a live band, DJ, 50/50 raffle, Chinese auction, and many other raffles for fantastic prizes. Last year, the event drew 248 registered vehicles and dozens of display and police cars were in attendance. Improvements to the show will include computerized voting, a larger lot to accommodate more vehicles, and the addition of a special class for active police vehicles. We are currently seeking sponsors and vendors for this event. If you have an interest in becoming a vendor, a sponsor, or would like more information about the show, please contact me at highhorseb [at] msn [dot] com.
Thanks for the info, I will also put it on the site Calendar. Good to see that there will be a bigger lot cause it was a real bitch getting in there last year.
Oh Im getting excited car show session is getting closer and closer every day. Glad to see we have a bigger parking lot this year, and computerized voting. This was probally one of my favorite shows last year, and those were my only complaints, space in getting in and the length of time it took to count the votes. Cant wait to attend it again this year.

I also made the suggestion to have classes, but I was in the minority so no dice there. Hopefully, everyone will have an even better time this year. Thanks for putting this in your calender, it is appreciated!! I know its hard to think about a car show when its 10* outside and snow is in the forecast.
Snow is melting..

This show was one of the better ones I have been to yet this year. Great turn out and great varitey of cars. I wish I could have stayed longer and entered my car, but dumb work had to get in the way. Oh well it was still a good time none the less, and it supported a great cause...
Anyways check out the pictures from the show...

You're def right on the turnout. Judging by the awesome pics, it looks likt is was nice weather for a great show. Much better turnout than the last show we went to that was at Liberty High School.
The Bar Stool scooter and jacked up golf cart were pimp!

Thanks for stopping by. The show was cut short thanks to a afternoon thunderstorm. I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves. I know some of the import guys were unhappy (and rightly so) that none of them got any award at all. This will be something that will be addressed for next year. The turnout was very good, but a little shy of last years total registered. Thanks everyone for your support!!
Wow I would have guess there were somewhere ebtween 300 and 400 cars there. Maybe it was just becuase they werre much more spaced out then last year. Yeah that storm came out of no wherelike right after i left it started puring buckets. Oh and Tom correction on your comment the show last year was at the Eldersburg Walmart, not Liberty Highschool. I would say though Carroll Town mall was a much better location, and I hope it is held there again in the future. Oh and out of curiosity what was the medivac doing there was it there to honor the police office or did someone get injured...

The helicopter was flown in for display only. The show did look bigger partially due to the increase in the number of vendors and also, as you said, the larger lot spread the show out more than last year. It was a good turnout considering the threat of afternoon storms, and we hope to make a bigger and better event next year!
