Blow off valve

I was looking into a bov for my protege but am undecided on if i like how this sounds or not so ill let you guys be the judge

That sounds pretty sweet. How much would something like that set you back?

I do like the way that they sound, but I know that they can cause some weird computer conditions. Ask Josh about his old GTI.

Yeah josh had some issue with his, not sure if that was just a VW issue or if that is something that all new turbo cars face. They sound great, and if you compare the aftermarket ones to the stock one there is no comparisions. I dont understand why the stock ones dont fail more often. They are tiny plastic pieces of crap.

I would say go for it. If you get one get a greddy, and make sure that it caqn be hooked up just like the stock one, and re circulate the waste as apposed to dumping it off into the atmospere. You will need that to pass emissions, and stay out of trouble with the cops, but i guess you dont have to worry about that....

I know my brother is trying to sell his for 130$ I think, if Mike T doesnt get it you may want to ask him about it.

the hks super suquential bov kit (the one in the clip) will set me back a little over 300 bucks. Jeremy this kit is not atmospheric and recirculates the air into the stock bpv or so they say

Then you shouldnt have any check engine light issues. Josh's kit was able to re circulate as well as vent into the atmosphere. It sounded better not recirculating, but after awhile it through a check engine light and kicked the car into limp mode all the time. He hooked it up so it recirculated it and it solved all of his issues.

Limp mode huh? Sounds like the GTI needed the little blue pill to help boost its confidence!

I deff think you should get that steve. I love the way the HKS bov sounds and i know i just ordered Matt W.'s for his 300z and he loves it too.

i do know with the right kinda blow off valve u can let it release into the air...without problems....the only thing is u might experience a quick lag under some lower boost due to the unregisterd air not there.....but yea it does sound bad ass

isnt that what external wastegastes are for too bad you only find them on bad ass cars

i would prefer the turboxs rfl bov but i couldnt find any soundclips of that

yeah the only problem i have with buying mods for my car is actually finding something designed for my car. With the BOV i see the ones i like but they dont make the kit for the msp. I guess the reasoning behind there being a limited aftermarket for my car is the fact that they only made 1750 of them

Thats pretty amazing that there is that much difference in your car's setup from say a base Protege. I guess MazdaSpeed is synonymous with proprietary.
