Its tim to start thinking about plans for next car weekend in Ocean City. The dates are Thursday, October 7, 2004 to Sunday, October 10, 2004. But, as far away as that sounds, we need to make arrangements for the event now.

Any ideas on how we / who should handle the event? Let us know some ideas!

Mike and I are in. As the group gets bigger it gets harder to make the arrangements. I guess we shoukd try and get a rough headcount and go from there. As far as I am concerned lets do the spinnaker again. Its right there in the heart of everything

Yeah, you can count in Me, Kenny, and Chrissy for sure. I do not know if there will be a three night minimum like in the Spring, but I am interested in going down Thursday again.

But, like Steve said, lets get a rough idea of who is going and then maybe split into 2 reservation groups instead of putting that responsibility all on one person. But, if one person wants to handle it again, thats fine too.

I am in, and im pretty sure my bro is in to. I will have to ask him when he gets back from philmont and have him post here. As for arrangments I say we do the spinnaker again. As for who makes the reservations, I would personally like it if someone else stepped up. It is stressful putting together a group this large. Anouther suggestion might be i know not everyone can make it down thursday, maybe we can do two groups of us, under two different reservations. One group for every one going down thursday, and some one else make the reservation for those going down friday. I think that would be the best. And from what i recall in years past it is not a 3 day minimum in the fall. Thats my 2 cents.

I am in for going down on Thursday. I agree with Steve with making smaller groups. That way if someone doesn't want to stay at the spinnaker they don't have too. Also it should not be hard getting money from everyone in the group if its smaller. Thats my opinion, let me know what you guys choose to do.

I am up for 2 groups, but I want to stay at the Spinnaker again. And count me in on Thursday. Hopefully the cops won't be out in force like in the Spring.

Jeremy, would you be up to take a group again? And then we can nominate someone else to take another group?

Depends on group size. I will possibly do it for one or two rooms at maximum. But it is really a pain in the ass exspecially with a group as large as we had last time, and everyone having their own opinion on how things should be run/delt with ect. It was a real stress and made for the weekend to be a little less enjoyable becuase i was affraid of stepping on peoples feet and pissing them off. For instance the whole beer/food money. Some people were for it, some were against it. Was it a good idea, it all depended on who you asked. I am all for doing smaller groups it makes it easier on who ever sets up the reservation. Also this time we tell them exactly how many people are staying with us. That was anouther huge headach of alst time. Trying to hide an extra 10 people in those rooms was not easy. And a slip up did accure where the front desk found out about it. Now there were no repercutions, but i technically could have been charged for every one else who was staying with us, which would have realy sucked becuase that would have been over 30$ more per person. I guess basically what i am saying is i would like it if some one else gae it a shot. I dont have a problem doing it, but it has to be run my way, the way i tried to run it last time, and that didnt work. Tom why dont you give it a shot, I will help you out with the planning and organizing ect. But i think it has definatly grown to the point where either A. we have one large reservation with every one accounted for, and more then one person organizing it collecting money contributing towards it ect. Or B we split it up into smaller more managable groups. This is just my 2 cents.

I really don't mind handling one group, but with me being gone the next 2 weeks, its going to be difficult to coordinate it. If it can wait till I get back and we have a definite group that is going down Thursday, I can take the bull by the horns from there.

But, if you are going to wait for me to get back, I need a definite head count so I can make the arrangements ASAP.

If you want to be part of my group:

1. We will be staying at the Spinnaker.
2. We will have rooms for Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday night.
3. The price for the room will be for the 3 night weekend, whether or not you stay all weekend. No exceptions.
4. There will be a $5 charge added on for snacks / pizza / or whatever else we decide to order for our rooms.

I figure I better lay this out so people can decide if they want to be in my group or not. I also don't mind helping out with a large group. but there WILL be rules to abide by and no bitching. We are trying to make this an enjoyable trip for EVERYONE. Please be a Team Player.

Tom that is exactly what i am talking about. If you dont want to be a team player, or bitch about cost ect. then you just dont benifit from the discount we get from going as a group. Tom if you want, i can get a group together for joining us on thursday and have it ready to go if you want to take it from there when you get back. Then we just have to figgure out what we will do about friday. But lets take it one group at a time.

easy there, tiger, i'm in. dont care which group. we should probably have one group that contains all of the <21'ers though.

I dont know if that would work kenny. One reason i think every one but my brother, you, brent, and maybe matt b (if he goes again) are already over 21. So that would just be one room of under 21ers..
