German Cars
Well i was working on my car the other day, and for you people who dnt know me, it is a Volkswagon GTI. I have to admitt that this car is "tight" so to speak, it has no noise in it, smoth ride, when your going 100 it still feels like your going 50. Get my point. Well when i was doing work on my car (rotating the tires) the other day, i was using craftmans tools, you know the 100% AMERICAN and 100% un breakable, money back tools. Well my socket broke. This just goes to show that my car was "tighter" then i thought. This porves that AMERICANS things should not mess with GERMAN things, because in the end the american thing will go home broken. If you want more proof talk to the 98gtveret lerking around this site.
First off Josh that is crazy, how did you pull that off. Second off you better take that part back and get it replaced, seeing as it does have a lifetime warrenty. Third off you spelled my name wrong bitch, and im not a the. LOL anyways that is some crazy shit.

May I remind you of WWII, where the AMERICANS went in and kicked some GERMAN ass. Now, had they won, this would be your "Turbo" VW and your name would be Dieter, YAH.

Josh first of all.....the craftsman tools are 100 % Made in the USA....but they are not advertised as "unbreakable" i should know....i have over $3000 dollars worth of their tools....and if you broke a socket taking off wheels....then maybe something is wrong with your car....cuz lug nuts aren't suppose to be on that tight.....if they are on that tight....then someone over tightened them and that isn't good.....i use Craftsman sockets all day long with my Impact gun and have no problem.....and then your next comment....i think it went a little something like this :
"This porves that AMERICANS things should not mess with GERMAN things, because in the end the american thing will go home broken."
why would you make a comment like that.....German cars aren't all that....they are bitches to work on....if i was a mechanic for a german car dealer.....i'd probably kill myself....they are expensive to have work done on them.....parts are expensive....and through a Jetta, Golf, or someother VW junk next to a muscle car...and then we'll see how German cars shouldn't mess with American cars....i'd be more then glad to go up against your German car...and im sure Greg and Rob would too....then we'll see who won't mess with who
i think i've said all that i need too

Hello mike
Well the post that i orginally posted was directed to piss jeremy off because i now have a quick car. I have nothing against american car, it just i would never buy one. When i went looking for a car i didnt liook for a car that was all muscle. I looked for a car that was quick and responsive. In my car i can take turns at a faster rate of speed and still feel like i have control. I also looked for a car that could hold almost any weather mother nature can send at us. You car mike is at home sitting in the garage when it snows. Your car mike is a staight line car, Yeah it goes fast, but only until you hit a turn. They are few american cars that are not only muscles but also good at handling. An example of one of these cars is the vette. Then look at the price of the vette. I could not afford one.
The other reason why i choos to go import is what american 8 cylinder gets 31 mpg. I get twice as much gas out of my car then your car does and with the rising gas prices i didnt want to pay out huge amount of money just for the gas to keep a car like yours one the road.
the next thing i have words for is that fact that germans cars are soooo hard to work on. The germans built that car to fit every little thing they could in to the smallest possible place to make a car that is small and compact in size so it could take turns at faster speed, and have less to pull when accelerating. So just because the germans built a solid car that reliable but makes it hard to work doesnt mean that my car is a peice of poop.
As for you rob and greg racing me. Bring it on. I may not win, but i still put up a fight. I dont ask for much mike, but i ask that you have respect for my car instead of treating like it is a piece of poop. You pick out the car that you enjoy. Good for you and i respect your chooce, but i wouldnt never buy one. Instead i got an import and i would hope that you would have respect for that too but after knowing you for so long i know you dont have respect for any car that has less then 8 cylinders. Well all i have to say to that is i cant wait unitl the day when you roll up next to an import and you have your ass handed to you. I am not saying that my import could, but i know there are imports out there that could distory you rob and greg.

WOW, props to Josh for holding his ground.
Can't we all just get along bitches!

This thread reminds me of this one: Imports are clearly a better choice. I dont think the wars between imports, and american muscle will ever end. I stay neutral. I like the american muscle for its power, but like my last post in that other thread said I would love to own an import as a daily driver/beater. Like Josh said they have better gas millage, they also seem to have a longevity that you dont see in american cars. It is pretty common to see imports with over 200,000 miles on the clock, and still run fine. For example, look at mike t's old accord. What was that like an 85, it had fairly low miles, but he beat the shit out of it and the thing took all of it with a grain of salt. Both cars have their benifits. American cars seem to have the all out engine power, and can put out alot of hourses. But you are now seeing imports that can lay down almost as much power, with engines half as big. Im proud of Josh for holding his own, and for those of you who are totally anti imports, well then you are living in a sheltered world. Imports make very reliable drivers, and most are good with gas, which if gas prices keep rising the way they are, you are going to see many people sell their gas guzzlers, in favor of the better gas millage of the smaller engine. Like i mentioned in that other thread, i would really like to have a reliable everyday driver. I would never get rid of the mustang, but would love to have the luxuary of being able to drive it soley on the weekends and nice days, as apposed to it being my only form of transpartation. And one of these days the stang will get retired to those duties, and those duties only, and it will most likely be replaced by a civic, jetta, gti, focus, ect...
Now lets all get along and play nicely...

I am determined to stay an Muscle Car Girl..forever. No import will ever win my heart over American Muscle. Hell Yeah.
And for you who drive imports and like imports..
Like Jeremy said, hold your own..and if you like imports, that's your thing- might as well be proud of it. But no import will ever win me over, MY heart will always belong to American Muscle!

-THE SURGEON GENERAL WARNING NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT SMOKING A FORD
I figured that I would comment since my name has been brought up. There are a lot of fast cars out there and there are more that just look fast. Or, should I rephrase, think they look fast. Whether it's a 1970 Chevy Chevelle 396 or a Nissan 350Z, a car person would know what to expect as far as performance is concerned. The issue that I believe that we're attacking, ultimately, are the 'enthusiasts' who modify Mustang V-6's and do bolt-on's to Civics who think they're hard asses, in which everyone, but they, realize they aren't. Even to an extreme and very limited point of those enthusiasts whose bolt-on only Cavalier that runs high 12's to the turbo RX-7 that runs 10's, we are all considered auto enthusiasts as a whole, whether we like it or not. With this kind of attitude, meeting new enthusiasts is easier and makes the hobby more pleasurable.
