Sorry for the slow replies, the snow put a damper on working on the car. Have to pay for this thing somehow.
I have a 306 to put in the car for now with a decent set of heads and just about every bolt on besides a charger. Suspension I am leaving alone for now. As far as exhaust goes we had to cut most of it off. I am gonna keep the flowmasters that are on it, add an H-pipe and some headers and we should be in good shape.
The old block that we pulled out is gonna become the 347 stroker conversion motor next year sometime. That one we will go all out on. I just need something to get and and go for now. This motor is pretty strong so I think it will get me in enough trouble for now.
Should have some more pictures after this weekend. The snow also delayed alot of my parts from showing up on time. I am hoping to set the motor this weekend. Oil pickup, the pan, water pump all got bolted up last night.

Sounds like you guys are having way too much fun with that car already. When it is ready for the track let me know I would love to tag along and run the GTP abit..doubt i'll keep up from the sounds of things but it's always a blast anyway.

Hey Zummy,
Welcome to the board! Now I might talk to you more than once a year in the target parking lot in 5 degree weather!
Well this weekend was very productive, got most of the extras bolted on the motor and she is just about ready to drop in.
Most people know how much of a perfectionist I am about my cars so it was only a matter of time before the sanding and painting began. Many hours of sanding later Nick painted the majority of the engine bay and it looks kick ass
Hopefully tonite we will finish up the firewall and have it ready for the drop this weekend. So here are the latest progress photos.

Damn dude, that looks great. Got all that done and still managed to make an appearance at the Super Bowl Party!
The way you guys are going... Car Weekend won't be an unrealistic goal to meet. That is, as long as the funds hold out
Keep up the good work guys, looks real good so far!

Well we have made a little more progress this week. Seems like everytime we take something else off I find more sutff to replace and Nick finds more stuff to paint.
Nick has completed the firewall paint job and it is awesome. Now we are trying to be creative with the wires. We are still hoping to have the motor in the car in the next 2 weeks. Valentines day and the Daytona 500 have killed this coming weekend to work on the car Damn hallmark holidays!
Had to replace some rear suspension parts this week to make the car sit correctly. Nothing to special at this point. Maybe some real suspension down the road. Right now I just want to get her on the road.

We had a really productive weekend and got the motor in the car. Still have to bolt the rest of the top end on, but we are hoping to have it fired this coming weekend, that is if we don't break anything else.
It took most of the morning to get it set after a few minor problems getting thre new clutch installed. (Thanks to Nick for catching our mistakes!)
I can't wait to hear this thing run.
Special thanks to everybody again for helping me out I wouldn't get this thing done by car weekend without them!
Nick: Head painter, tool shed, junkyard scavanger, mistake catcher, best friend, and whatever else I need.
Mike: Motor man, knuckle basher, bumper remover, and most of all draining my bank account! But thats OK because its fun!
Glenn Falls Auto: Special tool headquarters so I didn't have to buy them!
Pictures of the crew are below. Be on the lookout for a new face when Joe "The brake man" Robitaille makes an appearance once the parts come in!

good work steve, cant wait to see that thing up and running, and maybe this year you will have a car at car weekend, instead of bumming rides from every one..

You know what?!?!?!? That second pic something is missing... HMMM what could it be OH YEAH, The Roush was actually started up and drove out of the garage. Or did you guys just roll it out into the driveway. The sleeping beast has been awakened after a 6 month slumber! HAHA. Looks real good guys and I too can't wait to hear it all up and running.

Tom,
Thats awsome that you picked up on that. I might as well tell you all now so you can make fun of me now instead of at car weekend. I put it outside in the morning because Mike said it was gonna be a nice day. About 2 hours later I realize that it is F'ing snowing and sleeting on the car. At this point I am flipping out and had to get the car back inside. Sorry I am picky about that kinda thing. Its a 99 and its NEVER been wet, why start now???
Jeremy,
Bumming rides huh? Just because I didn't want to tool around OC in the Saturn. Come on man its a real babe magnet!!!

After 2 months of work it finally paid off last night and we got the car running. After a pretty good scare, and waking up all the neighboors and their dogs at 10pm on a tues night with the mother of all backfires. On the 2nd try she started right up and idled at a cool grand with no help. No its on to the little things that will get it on the road. It looks like we are gonna get a fresh coat of paint before car weekend to. Thats why they call it a project car right?
I still have a grin from ear to ear this morning. Hopefully everyone has their hearing back this morning. Watching everone run for the garage last night was somethin to see. Not sure if they were runnin for cover or the fire extingusher!
Thanks to Mike, Nick, Tom, Rick, and Chris. They all worked their asses off last night and stayed to midnight to get it runnin. Thanks guys!!!!

I'd have to say, its not even my car but I was so syked to get it running! And that initial backfire, all I have to say is I dont think I have ever stood near somethng so loud.
:: Note to Self - Don't prime the engine so much before starting it up ::
All in all, it was a really productive evening and it was really cool to be there to bring the beast back to life. Now about that cowl hood...

Yeah...what about the hood.....When you sit in the car and the intake is at eye level I don't think the hood is gonna fit. Oh well I needed to learn how to paint fiberglass hoods anyway.

Anyways, I was able to attend the Ceremonial First Drive of the Project Stang. Here are some shots as it makes it out of the garage.
And here's me giving chase in the Jeep, just in case the car wouldn't make it back under its own power.
And it made about a 2 mile round trip without too many problems, just don't let off the gas and its OK I can't explain the looks on a few people's faces as they drove past the Stang with no fornt or rear bumpers and no hood. WTF basically sums it all up! Once we got it back, we found what thing still needed a little tightening But atleast it was running and we didn't have to push it back to the house. (Pushing it into the garage doesn't count )
